About the Opportunity
We are partnering with Harbour Town to recruit an experienced Accountant/Finance Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, administrative performance, and compliance within a major retail centre environment. Working closely with the Centre Manager, you will take full ownership of all finance functions, tenant financial management, and key statutory obligations. This position is ideal for someone who values variety, precision, and accountability, and thrives in a collaborative workplace.
 
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations and Reporting
  • Manage day-to-day centre accounting functions across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare monthly accruals, budgets, reforecasts and month-end reporting.
  • Maintain the Capital Expenditure register and monthly reforecasts.
  • Oversee tenant invoicing, receipting, arrears management, rent reviews, outgoings calculations and percentage rent processes.
  • Produce financial communications, manage databases and complete monthly reconciliations including gift vouchers and petty cash.
  • Monitor spending against approved budgets and maintain reporting accuracy.
Administration, Lease Support and Centre Compliance
  • Assist with lease administration including tenant setup, documentation support and incentive budget updates.
  • Maintain the tenancy schedule, asset registers and required insurance records.
  • Oversee office operations including rosters, filing standards and equipment contract management.
  • Prepare monthly reports, variance reports and cashflow documents with the Centre Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and internal procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with tenants, internal stakeholders and service providers while upholding organisational values.
 
Skills and Experience
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and confidence with property or financial systems.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance are desirable.
  • Experience in commercial or retail property finance is desirable.
  • Exposure to lease administration and systems such as Progen or Lightyear is an advantage.
  • A collaborative mindset, attention to detail and a professional approach.
