Workplace stress is unavoidable, but when pressure becomes prolonged and recovery is limited, it can quickly contribute to fatigue, disengagement and burnout.

Led by Charlotte Ingham, a workplace wellbeing specialist with 10 years’ experience helping organisations strengthen psychological safety and manage psychosocial hazards, this session will explore what happens in the brain and body when we experience stress, and how HR leaders can help employees respond to pressure in healthier, more sustainable ways.

Drawing on neuroscience, emotional intelligence and her research into brain chemistry and thriving, Charlotte will unpack the human stress response, the early warning signs of burnout and fatigue, and the practical steps organisations can take to support employee energy, resilience and wellbeing.

You will learn:

• How the human stress response works and why understanding it is essential for workplace wellbeing
• How to recognise the early warning signs of burnout and fatigue before they escalate
• The relationship between dopamine, stress, energy and performance
• Practical strategies employees can use to manage stress and optimise energy without burning out
• How emotionally intelligent leadership can support healthier responses to workplace pressure
• Ways HR teams and leaders can create psychologically safer environments that support sustainable performance
